A full-time Registered Nurse opportunity is available in Newark, NJ, serving a K-12 school setting under a contract through the current school year ending June 23, 2026. This onsite position provides a chance to utilize your nursing expertise within an educational environment to promote student health and wellness throughout the academic calendar.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive school health services including physical examinations, immunizations, hearing, and vision testing
- Maintain and update cumulative health records for all enrolled students to ensure accurate documentation
- Administer first aid promptly and competently following established procedures to address student health incidents
- Provide health advice and support to teachers regarding student medical concerns and wellness initiatives
- Collaborate closely with school staff to foster a safe, healthy learning atmosphere
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with experience in school nursing or general nursing preferred
- Ability to work full-time onsite hours (40 hours per week)
- Strong communication skills and capacity to engage with children, educators, and families
- Comfort managing multiple health responsibilities in a dynamic school environment
- Flexibility to begin as soon as possible through June 2026
